The other day I happened to flip through a book of Christian theology. I don’t do that real often.
But as I did this, my eyes spotted a few words that are currently heard in our society. Well the words aren’t necessarily heard, but the ideas behind these words are bantered and heard.
For example the words: universal reconciliation. This is a teaching that the death of Jesus restored everyone to God. This happens whether anyone has responded to Jesus because of his death or even knows about his death.
Consequently, another word: universalism, which seems to be a spin off from the tolerance philosophy, offers eternal good will to everyone.
The talk about these words finally gets around to asking: Is Jesus the only way to heaven? As a result, every now and then, you’ll see a poll wanting you to pick an answer:
A) I’m not sure
D) Other (explain)
I have a question: why is it so difficult for people to believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven?
