I realize—though I didn’t use to care—that there is a general lack of high regard for Jesus.
Yesterday a friend sent me a familiar verse from the Bible but in a version I wasn’t familiar with.
The verse is Isaiah 53: 3 and here it is from the New Life Bible: “He was hated and men would have nothing to do with Him, a man of sorrows and suffering, knowing sadness well. We hid, as it were, our faces from Him. He was hated, and we did not think well of Him.”
A little different, huh?
I asked myself, “How would you feel if people treated you this way?”
Obviously, not good.
Does Jesus know something about being ignored as if he’s a-nobody?
Isaiah wrote this maybe 700 years before Jesus showed up. Still Jesus came and did what he did.
Though Jesus wasn’t welcome and thoroughly slighted he kindly asked, “How can I help you?”
People were given hope, affirmation and encouragement. It’s the same today.
If you were treated like Jesus, honestly, would you say, “How can I help you?”
I’d love to hear your thought, leave a comment.
